Tucked away in Harwich, Massachusetts, Cape Cod Lavender Farm gave our studio the perfect afternoon escape. As we stepped out of the car, the calming scent of lavender filled the air, welcoming us into a landscape buzzing with bees and fluttering with butterflies.
At the shop near the entrance, we met Cynthia, the farm’s founder, who was in the middle of distilling lavender into soap and lavender water. She shared her inspiration for starting the farm and how she collaborates with her beekeeper neighbor to keep the plants thriving.
After thanking Cynthia, we wandered down the gently sloping fields, where rows of blooming lavender stretched toward the woods. Alongside the classic purple blooms, we spotted white and pale pink flowers—Jean Davis lavender—and even milkweed supporting pollinators.
It was refreshing to get out of the office and into nature. We left feeling inspired and grateful for the experience. Thank you, Cape Cod Lavender Farm
