Set within a coastal woodland, this thoughtfully crafted residence demonstrates how landscape design can nurture both human well-being and ecological resilience. Developed as a WELL Residential pilot in collaboration with Neubauer Ennis Architects, the cascading landscape responds organically to the site’s natural topography, creating a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living. Native plant communities and site-salvaged boulders are carefully integrated throughout the property, while a sculptural rocky channel and scupper at the entrance transform stormwater management into a defining design feature that complements the architecture and enhances the experience of arrival.
The landscape’s wellness-focused vision extends into a productive edible garden woven naturally into the woodland setting. Blueberry sod, huckleberry, raspberry, and apple trees are paired with raised planting beds filled with herbs and vegetables, encouraging daily interaction with the landscape and a deeper connection to seasonal living. Weathering corten steel provides a unifying material language, appearing in the garden planters, custom cladding, and sculptural mailbox. Together, these sustainable elements create a healthy, symbiotic environment where beauty, stewardship, and multigenerational living exist in effortless harmony.
